Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has made big changes to make driver licensing services easier, faster, and smarter. They reduced the number of licensing services from 33 to just 15, which means things are now simpler and quicker for people.
This change is part of a bigger plan to give people a smooth and safe digital experience when using RTA services. It also matches the Dubai Government’s goal to make public services better and improve life for everyone in the city.
Sultan Al Akraf, who is the Director of Driver Licensing at RTA, said that this new step is about making the process of getting a driver’s licence easier using smart technology. The RTA wants to improve its services and make sure customers have a better experience.
He explained that they are using modern technology and joining up data to improve the services. Now, all RTA services can be accessed through one smart app – the Dubai App. This app helps not just drivers, but also people who own cars and use public transport. This change is part of the ‘Services 360’ plan, which aims to offer smart, helpful, and complete services that people need and expect.

Al Akraf also said that RTA is working hard to offer the best service to both companies and individuals. They are using smart tools, better customer care, and easier steps to make things work faster and more smoothly.
By changing how the customer journey works, RTA has made it easier for people by cutting down the number of steps, reducing waiting time, and making everything work better. They are also working closely with other government platforms to make the whole system stronger.
Some of the services that are now easier include:
RTA has also started sending reminders to help customers stay updated. Now, you don’t need to go to a service center – you can do everything online through the RTA website in just a few simple steps.
With all these changes, RTA is making life easier for everyone who drives in Dubai.
