Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced two new marine transport lines designed to improve accessibility for residents of Dubai Creek Harbour. These lines aim to connect key residential and tourist areas along Dubai Creek.

The first line operates between Dubai Creek Harbour and Dubai Festival City on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 4:00 pm to 11:55 pm. The second line connects Dubai Creek Harbour with Al Jaddaf Marine Transport Station and Al Khor Metro Station on weekdays (Monday to Friday), running from 7:30 am to 10:50 am and again from 4:00 pm to 10:50 pm. A fare of AED 2 applies for each stop on these routes.

This initiative follows a collaboration agreement between RTA and Emaar Properties, aimed at enhancing connectivity and supporting waterfront community projects. The agreement was signed by Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA's Public Transport Agency, and Ahmed Al Matrooshi, Executive Board Member of Emaar Properties.

According to Ahmed Bahrozyan, the marine transport lines have experienced significant growth since their launch in August 2022. Initial passenger numbers averaged 3,000 per month but have surged to approximately 30,000 per month in the current year, reflecting a 900% increase. This rise in usage underscores the need for further infrastructure improvements, including the addition of berths for various marine vessels and ticket-selling kiosks to enhance customer service.

Ahmed Al Matrooshi highlighted the significance of public-private partnerships in achieving efficient and effective outcomes. He noted that the collaboration enhances Dubai's attractiveness as a premier global destination for living and investment. By providing necessary infrastructure in Emaar’s waterfront developments, the RTA’s marine transport services contribute to public mobility and make these areas more appealing.

The RTA remains dedicated to advancing marine transportation services to meet the needs of both residents and visitors. The authority plans to continue working with real estate developers and signing agreements that align with customer demands, in line with the Marine Transport Master Plan 2020–2030. This plan aims to boost marine transport usage and improve overall satisfaction with public services.
