New York: Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a significant roundtable discussion today with leading American technology CEOs, emphasizing innovation and collaboration in India's expanding tech landscape. This meeting took place at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel and is part of PM Modi's three-day visit to the United States, with the second leg of his trip focused on New York.
The roundtable, hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Engineering, brought together executives from companies at the forefront of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, semiconductors, and biotechnology. Notable attendees included Google's Sundar Pichai, Nvidia's Jensen Huang, and Adobe's Shantanu Narayen, among others.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi shared, "Had a fruitful roundtable with tech CEOs in New York, discussing aspects relating to technology, innovation, and more. I also highlighted the strides made by India in this field and am glad to see immense optimism toward India."

According to a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the discussions concentrated on cutting-edge sectors, particularly artificial intelligence, quantum computing, biotechnology, and semiconductor technologies. The CEOs engaged in in-depth conversations with the Prime Minister about the evolving global technology landscape and the role of these advanced technologies in enhancing the quality of life around the world, including in India.
On the topic of artificial intelligence, PM Modi emphasized India’s policy of promoting "AI for All," which prioritizes ethical and responsible usage of AI technologies. He reassured the CEOs of India's strong commitment to protecting intellectual property rights and creating a favorable environment for technology-driven innovation.
The Prime Minister also encouraged the business leaders to seize the opportunities presented by India’s growth trajectory, highlighting the nation’s potential to emerge as the third-largest economy in the world. The meeting further explored avenues for investment in India’s rapidly growing startup ecosystem, which is seen as a crucial bridge for American companies looking to enter the Indian market and contribute to new technological advancements.
MIT Professor Anantha Chandrakasan, who chaired the session, expressed gratitude to PM Modi and the participating CEOs for their insights. He reaffirmed MIT's commitment to leveraging technology for global benefit and advancing collaboration between the United States and India in critical technology sectors.
