Peng Xiao said he feels honoured to lead Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He shared that by combining the hospital’s medical expertise with advanced AI, they can find diseases earlier, give more accurate treatments, and help patients recover better. He added that Abu Dhabi is the perfect place for this vision because of its strong national leadership, which supports the use of technology to improve healthcare for everyone.
Dr Tom Mihaljevic, CEO and President of Cleveland Clinic, said that Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi shows their mission to provide caring, patient-focused healthcare globally. He praised the hospital’s great achievements in the past ten years and said he is confident that under Peng Xiao’s leadership, it will continue to grow as a centre of excellence and innovation in the region.
Dr Georges-Pascal Haber, CEO of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, said that under Peng Xiao’s leadership, the hospital will continue to change the future of healthcare. By using new technologies along with top medical skills, they will make big advances in precision medicine, artificial intelligence, and digital health. This will also make Abu Dhabi known worldwide for excellent and modern healthcare.
Peng Xiao replaces Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, who played an important role as Chairman during the hospital’s early years. Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi thanked him for his strong leadership and contributions.
Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi opened in 2015 to help build a world-class healthcare system in Abu Dhabi. It follows the same care model as Cleveland Clinic in the US. So far, it has treated over one million patients and brought many medical services to Abu Dhabi that were not available before. This has also reduced the need for patients to travel abroad for treatment.
After celebrating its 10th anniversary, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi continues to lead in healthcare services, teaching, and research in the region. It has won many international awards and was recently named the best hospital in the UAE and GCC by Newsweek in their 2025 World’s Best Hospitals list.
