Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan visited Saudi Arabia to make the friendship between the two countries even stronger. During his visit, he met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in the holy city of Makkah. Their meeting took place just one day after the Hajj pilgrimage ended.
Both leaders agreed to take their relationship to the next level. They shared a vision to work closely together for the benefit of the people of both countries. An official statement said this strong partnership is based on deep trust and brotherly feelings between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Prime Minister Sharif was not alone on this visit. He brought a high-level team with him. This included Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi.
Sharif warmly wished Eid greetings to King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince. He also praised Saudi Arabia for taking such good care of pilgrims who came from all over the world to perform Hajj. He thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for making the Hajj experience safe and spiritually fulfilling.
During their meeting, Sharif thanked Saudi Arabia for its support in times of tension between Pakistan and India. He appreciated the Kingdom's efforts in helping to keep peace and stability in the region.
The two leaders also spoke about the serious situation in Gaza. They shared concerns over the suffering of the people there and agreed to support efforts to bring peace.
Sharif said he was happy to see that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were working well together in politics, the economy, and security. He said the bond between the two countries is strong and based on trust and friendship.
Before ending the visit, Prime Minister Sharif invited the Crown Prince to come to Pakistan for an official visit. The Crown Prince kindly accepted the invitation and said he looked forward to it.
