Washington: Indian Americans and former presidential candidates Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy are set to address the Republican National Convention (RNC) this week. Haley, the former governor of South Carolina and a former US Ambassador to the United Nations, has addressed the RNC multiple times, including in 2016 and 2020. Ramaswamy, a millionaire entrepreneur-turned-politician, will be speaking at the RNC for the first time.
Haley, who was a presidential candidate in the Republican primary, was the last to suspend her campaign. She has a longstanding history with the RNC, known for her impactful speeches and significant contributions to the Republican Party.
Ramaswamy, on the other hand, has seen a rapid rise within the Republican ranks. Initially known for his success in the business world, he has become a prominent figure in the party and is considered a close confidant of former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee.

Sources familiar with the RNC have indicated that Ramaswamy is scheduled to speak first on Tuesday night in the 7:30-8:00 pm local time slot. He will be one of three speakers during that period. Haley is slated to speak third in the subsequent slot from 8:00-8:30 pm local time, sharing the stage with three other speakers.
The evening's lineup will conclude with remarks from Senator Marco Rubio and Lara Trump, who serves as the co-chair of the Republican National Committee. Additionally, former President Donald Trump is expected to make another appearance on Tuesday night and is anticipated to stay for the final hour of the RNC events.
This event marks a significant moment for both Haley and Ramaswamy, as they continue to shape their roles within the Republican Party. Haley’s seasoned presence and Ramaswamy’s fresh perspective underscore the diversity of voices and experiences represented at the convention.
The RNC aims to rally support and set the stage for the party’s future, with key figures like Haley and Ramaswamy playing pivotal roles in the narrative. Their speeches are highly anticipated and are expected to address both their visions for the party and the country.
As the convention progresses, all eyes will be on these influential figures, their messages, and their impact on the Republican Party’s direction leading up to the next presidential election.
