Google has introduced Nano Banana Pro, an advanced image generation and editing model built on Gemini 3 Pro, promising smarter reasoning, richer real-world knowledge, and more precise visuals. This upgrade expands on the earlier Nano Banana, aiming to help users transform ideas, notes, prototypes, and even real-time information into high-quality visuals.

Unlike its predecessor, Nano Banana Pro can produce more than just images. Users can now create infographics, diagrams, recipes, and snapshots using information grounded in Google’s extensive knowledge base. The model also supports rendering text inside images with improved clarity across multiple languages, handling longer text, stylised fonts, and localised content.

A major enhancement is the model’s ability to blend multiple elements consistently. Users can merge up to 14 images while maintaining the likeness of up to five people. Creators also gain new controls, including adjustments for lighting, camera angles, depth-of-field, and localised editing. Images can be exported in multiple resolutions and aspect ratios, including 2K and 4K.

Nano Banana Pro is now rolling out across Google’s consumer and professional platforms. In the Gemini app, it is available under the ‘Thinking’ option for image creation. Free-tier users will have limited access, while AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers will enjoy higher quotas. In Google Search AI Mode, it is available for AI Pro and Ultra users in the US.

For professional use, the tool will integrate into Google Ads, Workspace tools like Slides and Vids, and Flow for filmmaking. Developers can access it via Gemini API, Google AI Studio, Antigravity, and Vertex AI.

To improve transparency, all images generated using Google AI tools continue to include SynthID watermarking, and users can now verify if an image was created by Google AI. Free and Pro-tier images will feature a visible Gemini watermark, which will be removed for Ultra subscribers and AI Studio developers.

With these updates, Google positions Nano Banana Pro as not just an image generator but a versatile tool for content creation, combining advanced AI reasoning with creative control, while ensuring transparency in AI-generated content.
