Moscow strengthens tourism ties with UAE as visitor numbers continue to rise

Post by: Raman Preet

The Moscow City Tourism Committee has started a strategic roadshow in the Middle East to strengthen tourism ties, focusing on growing visitor numbers and partnerships, especially with the UAE. The committee aims to make Moscow a top travel destination for people from the region.

Tourism between Moscow and the UAE has grown rapidly, with around 42,700 visitors traveling to Moscow in the first nine months of 2024. This is a huge jump from 2019, and nearly all visitors are coming for leisure. The ease of travel, with no visa required and 239 direct flights weekly between Moscow and the UAE, has made it even easier for tourists to visit.

In meetings held in Dubai, the Moscow City Tourism Committee discussed ways to make Moscow even more appealing to travelers from the UAE. They want to offer unique experiences that highlight cultural exchanges, special events, and personalized travel. Visitors from the Middle East enjoy various types of tourism, including group, family, corporate, medical, and sports travel, which all provide meaningful and customized experiences.

To make visits even better for tourists from the Middle East, Moscow is investing in its tourism industry. The city is building more luxury hotels, improving Arabic-language services, and offering unique food experiences to suit the tastes of Middle Eastern visitors.

Evgeny Kozlov, Chairman of the Moscow City Tourism Committee, said, "Moscow is quickly becoming a top choice for tourists from the Middle East because of our great infrastructure, pleasant weather, and mix of modern comforts with Russian traditions. Our official tourism website, Discover Moscow, helps international visitors find all the essential information about the city’s attractions. With over 22,000 restaurants, amazing shopping options, and a metro system that's also a cultural landmark, Moscow has something special for everyone."

As Moscow looks to attract more visitors from the Middle East, building stronger partnerships with the UAE is a top priority. The city is working on offering even more creative tourism ideas, cultural activities, and guided tours to welcome more UAE tourists and others from the region.

Travelers from the UAE now see Moscow as an exciting new destination for high-end experiences like luxury shopping and five-star hotels. Tourists from the UAE are becoming an important part of Moscow’s growing tourism market.
