As the launch of Transparent Ghost approaches, Osama Regaah finds himself standing at the threshold between anticipation and reflection, a quiet moment where art, philosophy, and human emotion converge.
“The fair coincides with the early days of winter,” he says softly, “those days brimming with a sense of melancholy. Yet my spirit eagerly awaits the encounter with readers, and my heart recalls the long journey that letters traveled from idea to paper to become Transparent Ghost.”
That journey, stretching across years of thought, silence, and patient craftsmanship, now culminates in a moment that promises to be as emotional as it is momentous.
Within Transparent Ghost lives more than a story. It carries fragments of its author’s heart: the philosophical eye that has long observed the world, the questions that have never quieted, and the dream that literature might serve as a mirror to the human soul.
The novel moves between life and death, myth and modernity, questioning not only the visible world but the unseen layers of justice and spirit that dwell beneath it.
At the upcoming launch, readers can expect more than a book signing; they can expect an experience.
“A free copy of the novel, a warm smile, a gentle human embrace, some sweets, and snapshots of memories that will never fade,” Osama shares with his signature humility.
For him, this moment is not about publicity but participation—a celebration of literature’s ability to connect people beyond language and borders.
“Launching the novel at a fair of this magnitude gives me a sense of belonging to a global cultural network,” he reflects. “It feels as though Arabic words are sending their echoes to every reader across the world, affirming the civilizational role of literature.”
But what should readers truly expect when they open the first page?
He answers with calm conviction: “I hope the reader feels curiosity that opens the doors to contemplation, emotion that moves the heart, and a desire to dive into the depths of their own self, because when they touch the novel, they begin a personal journey with themselves, just as I began mine.”
For those who have followed Osama’s literary career, Transparent Ghost represents an evolution—a step into uncharted territory where spirituality and philosophy breathe freely within a contemporary narrative.
“I hope it opens new windows into Arab literary consciousness,” he says. “To show that depth and realism can coexist, that a modern novel can carry the scent of the metaphysical without losing its human pulse.”
Balancing those two worlds, however, was not easy.
“The greatest challenge was maintaining the balance between philosophical depth and the realistic pulse of events,” he explains. “I wanted to keep the novel alive, simple, and connected to readers, while preserving its profound spiritual sense.”
The story itself, he reveals, “emerged from an attempt to answer the great questions about death, about the soul, about justice, and about humanity’s capacity to confront hidden forces beyond its immediate understanding, all within a narrative that intertwines the past, myth, and the present.”
Yet, for him, the book is not just about storytelling. It’s about leaving something lasting behind.
“I do not aim merely to tell a story of death and corruption, or of the sea’s secrets and mysteries,” he says, “but to leave a mirror in the reader’s heart where they can see their life, their soul, and their fragility before time.”
The upcoming fair will also feature a showcase of Osama’s previous works, from award-winning novels such as Black Mamba and Reflections and Journeys to legal and philosophical publications that have been translated into Persian, Turkish, and Amharic.
“Each work,” he says, “is an extension of the same thought, the same journey between humanity and the world.”
To him, Transparent Ghost is not separate from his humanitarian vision—it completes it.
“Literature, law, and compassion are two sides of the same coin,” he reflects. “Every word carries ethical responsibility toward life and others.”
For all its anticipation and visibility, Osama views the launch as a fleeting spark, a moment of light that matters not for its fame but for its impact.
“Fame is temporary,” he says quietly, “but the lasting effect lies in the reader’s experience and their relationship with the word.”
And even before the event begins, his thoughts are already moving beyond it.
“After the launch, I aim for translations into new languages, continuation of literary and intellectual projects, and perhaps unveiling new surprises that reflect the evolution of my creative journey.”
He pauses, then sums up what Transparent Ghost truly means to him.
“It is not merely a story,” he says, “but a mirror of the soul reflecting the struggles of life and death, where myth intertwines with reality to remind us that truth is deeper than what we see with our eyes, and that true destiny lies in self-awareness and the courage to face the unknown in the heart of darkness.”
As the countdown quietly begins, the anticipation grows—not only for the book itself but for the return of an author whose words have always sought to make us feel, question, and remember what it means to be human.
