The live demonstration took place during the 4th ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium 2025 and the Global Sustainable Marketplace. This significant event was supported by the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC), the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility). The demonstration attracted government officials from various countries to attend the symposium, highlighting the growing global interest in advanced air mobility solutions.
This event marks a major step for Abu Dhabi and the UAE as leaders in the next generation of transportation. Through projects like the Advanced Mobility Hub and the AeroX Sports Club, the city is positioning itself as a pioneer in air mobility innovation. By encouraging advanced technological solutions and building a robust air mobility ecosystem, Abu Dhabi is setting new standards in the aviation industry.
The Advanced Mobility Hub, a part of the Multi-Level Group, has partnered with LIFT Aircraft Middle East to launch LIFT Middle East in Abu Dhabi. This new venture aims to assemble and manufacture light sports aircraft locally, turning the UAE into a hub for aerospace innovation in the Middle East.
Another exciting development is the AeroX Club project, a unique platform that will offer exciting light aerial sports experiences in urban areas. The AeroX Club will give people access to modern flying sports, bringing a new dimension to personal aviation in the region. This project, supported by SASC, will further establish Abu Dhabi as a global leader in smart and autonomous systems.
His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the GCAA, expressed his support for the initiative. He highlighted how the live demonstration builds on previous trials conducted in the UAE. "This event is part of our ongoing efforts to regulate and prepare this sector for commercial operations. Safety is our top priority, and we are committed to integrating electric aircraft into our airspace with the highest standards," Al Suwaidi said.
He also emphasized that electric aircraft are a key part of the future of transportation and that the GCAA is actively working on the necessary regulations and infrastructure to support their growth.
His Excellency Badr Al-Olama, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), praised the launch of LIFT Middle East. "This initiative aligns perfectly with the goals of the Smart and Autonomous Vehicles Industry (SAVI) cluster," he said. "It strengthens Abu Dhabi's role as a global hub for smart mobility across air, land, and sea. We are excited to see the emirate leading the way in urban mobility."
The SAVI cluster, launched by ADIO and the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), focuses on fostering innovation and investment in the transportation sector. By collaborating with industry leaders and policymakers, SAVI aims to make Abu Dhabi a global leader in sustainable, intelligent mobility solutions.
Dr. Abdulla Al Ghafli, Acting Director General of the Integrated Transport Centre, also expressed his support. He explained that Abu Dhabi is committed to creating a strong legal and infrastructural foundation for advanced air mobility. "Our strategies encourage the testing and adoption of electric aircraft technologies. We want to attract global companies and foster partnerships that prioritize safety, sustainability, and innovation," Al Ghafli said.
Mohamed Salah, CEO of Multi-Level Group, described the partnership with LIFT Aircraft as a transformative move for the UAE. "This collaboration goes beyond delivering new aviation technology. It positions Abu Dhabi as a center for aircraft manufacturing and assembly," Salah explained. The AeroX Light Sport Aviation Club will give aviation enthusiasts a glimpse into the future of flight. Our projects align with the UAE's vision for technological growth and innovation."
Matt Chasen, CEO of LIFT Aircraft, expressed his excitement about the company's expansion into the Middle East. Partnering with the Advanced Mobility Hub and establishing LIFT Middle East is a significant step," he said. From Abu Dhabi, we aim to build a foundation for personal air mobility in the region. The AeroX Club will provide a safe and thrilling way for people to experience flying."
The live demonstration of the HEXA electric aircraft was not just a technical showcase but a glimpse into the future of transportation. With ongoing support from UAE authorities and industry leaders, Abu Dhabi is well on its way to becoming a global hub for advanced air mobility, offering innovative, sustainable, and exciting air travel options for everyone.
