Kapil Sharma’s new comedy venture, Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2, has had a lackluster debut at the box office. With earnings of just ₹1.75 crore on its first day and a mere 16.45% occupancy in Hindi-speaking areas, it marks a stark contrast to the successful 2015 original, which debuted with ₹10.15 crore.
In this sequel, Kapil Sharma plays Mohan Sharma, whose intentions to marry his girlfriend quickly lead to a chaotic scenario involving four wives. As family expectations and religious dilemmas unfold, Mohan finds himself on the run from the police after his candid admissions. Alongside Sharma, the film features talents like Manjot Singh, Tridha Choudhary, Warina Hussain, Parul Gulati, and Jamie Lever, each contributing to the film’s humorous turmoil.
While some critics have pointed out enjoyable moments and the strength of the ensemble cast, they also mention that the film suffers from predictable plotlines and an extended runtime, which hinders its comedic potential. Although it's a family-friendly watch, it lacks the spark that made its predecessor a hit.
Despite the film’s disappointing box office performance, Kapil Sharma is preparing for a comeback on television, with the fourth season of The Great Indian Kapil Show set to premiere on December 20, featuring Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra as the first guest, generating additional excitement for its launch.
