Khalifa University Rises to 177 in World Ranking

Khalifa University, located in Abu Dhabi, has made a big jump in the QS World University Rankings for 2026. The university moved up 25 places and now ranks 177th in the world.

This is an important achievement not just for Khalifa University but also for the UAE. Out of more than 1,500 universities ranked this year, Khalifa University is now in the top 11%. It also means the university is among the top 3% of universities worldwide.

The QS World University Rankings are published every year by a well-known company called QS Quacquarelli Symonds. This company compares universities from all over the world. They consider many factors, such as the quality of teaching, research output, and how much a university is respected by employers and other schools.

Khalifa University stood out in several key areas:

  • It is ranked among the top 30 universities globally for the number of research citations per faculty member. This means the university’s research is being used and recognized by experts worldwide.

  • It also ranks among the top 100 universities for the number of international students and staff. This shows that many people from different countries choose Khalifa University to study and work.

Dr. Arif Sultan Al Hammadi, the Executive Vice-President of Khalifa University, said this success is thanks to the hard work of the university’s students, teachers, researchers, and staff. He said the ranking proves Khalifa University’s important role in supporting the UAE’s growth in science, technology, and innovation.

He added that the university will continue to work hard to help the UAE reach its long-term goals. This includes preparing students for future challenges and solving real-world problems through advanced research.

Khalifa University offers strong programs in science, engineering, and technology. The university is also known for its research in important fields such as space, health, energy, artificial intelligence, and sustainability.
