K-pop idol Sunwoo, a member of the group The Boyz, is facing criticism online after a short video of him went viral. In the clip, he is seen behaving in a way that some people say is disrespectful toward a security guard. The video spread quickly on social media, leading to strong reactions from fans and the public.
The incident happened when Sunwoo dropped his wireless earphones (AirPods) while walking. Instead of picking them up himself, he shouted, “My AirPods!” A security guard nearby picked them up and gave them to him using both hands. However, Sunwoo only used one hand to take them and didn’t seem to properly thank the guard. This upset many people, who felt he acted rudely.
Some viewers defended Sunwoo, saying the video didn’t show the full story. Others believed that even with a short clip, his attitude seemed careless.
Even actress Nana, who was once part of the girl group After School, joined the conversation. She commented on the video saying, “He must be scolded.” She also added that while it’s not right to judge someone from just a few seconds, his behavior still seemed wrong.
After the video started trending, Sunwoo’s agency, OneHundred, spoke up. They released a statement saying, “We’re very sorry for not managing the situation well. We understand why the video upset people. Sunwoo also had a calm talk with us and is thinking seriously about how he acted.”

They also said they felt sad that the story was being misunderstood. “We wish we had taken action earlier to prevent this. We also know that Sunwoo’s behavior was not thoughtful. We promise to work harder to guide our artists better in the future,” the company said.
At the same time, the agency warned that they would take legal steps against anyone who spreads false or hateful comments about their artist.
Before the company gave an official apology, Sunwoo himself shared his thoughts with fans through a messaging app. He said he was scared about how people were reacting and explained that the video didn’t show everything. According to Sunwoo, he did bow to the guard and thanked him after receiving the AirPods.
“Do you think I would really ignore the guard while so many people are watching?” he wrote. “I feel confused and shocked. I’ll think more about my actions, but I’m also very scared of how quickly people can turn against you based on a few seconds of video.”
Sunwoo’s message shows he knows how serious the situation is and wants to learn from it, even though he didn’t directly say sorry.
