Jimmy Kimmel recently directed his comedic ire at Donald Trump during his late-night show, critiquing the former president's merchandise-selling strategies as the 2024 election season gains momentum. Kimmel highlighted that while most candidates focus on campaign efforts at this crucial juncture, Trump appears more invested in generating profit from his supporters.

Among Trump’s latest offerings is a new “official” coin being sold for $100. Kimmel humorously noted, “We are in the final stretch of the election when the candidates are supposed to be making their final push to run this country. And this guy's having a yard sale.” The late-night host continued to mock the coin, pointing out its high price relative to its actual value. “The Trump coin, it should be noted, costs $100, but it contains only $31 worth of silver,” he said, highlighting the absurdity of charging fans significantly more than what the coin is worth.
Kimmel further quipped, “What captures the essence of Donald Trump more than charging the fans who love him most three times more than a coin is worth?” He likened the coin to “a Chuck E. Cheese token with his head on it,” and added, “It’s the perfect gift to send him when he comes in second in November.”
Shifting his focus, Kimmel also took aim at Melania Trump, mentioning her promotion of a $600 “Vote Freedom” necklace. He joked, “It’s like having Lady Liberty on the front and nothing behind it, just like Melania herself.” His pointed humor drew laughter from the audience, yet it seemed to resonate negatively with Trump.
At a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump responded to late-night hosts like Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, and Jimmy Fallon, although he refrained from naming them directly. He questioned, “Where’s Johnny Carson? Bring back Johnny,” referencing the iconic late-night host who retired in 1992 and passed away in 2005.
Trump criticized Fallon for a 2016 appearance where Fallon playfully tousled his hair, labeling him “weak and pathetic” for later apologizing for humanizing Trump during the campaign. Trump also referenced Kimmel's remarks, suggesting that the host believes he isn’t affected by the jokes. “I think he said something like, ‘Ha ha ha, he thinks he bothers me,’ or some crap like that,” Trump remarked, expressing his discontent with the late-night humor directed at him.
