Iran is working to keep talks about its nuclear program moving forward, especially with the United States. The next round of talks will happen in Oman this Saturday. Iran has also already talked with Russia and China earlier this week. Now, Iran is reaching out to European countries that were part of the 2015 nuclear deal. This shows that Iran is open to different options when it comes to negotiations.

Since September, Iran and the three European countries, called the E3, have held several talks about their relationship and Iran’s nuclear program. The last talks in March were about the details of a future deal. This deal could involve Iran reducing its nuclear program in return for lifting the sanctions (penalties) placed on the country.
European diplomats had wanted to meet with Iran again, but this slowed down when Iran started indirect talks with the United States earlier this month. Former U.S. President Donald Trump left the 2015 agreement in 2018 and has said he would attack Iran if a new deal is not reached quickly to stop Iran from making nuclear weapons.
Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araqchi, said that Iran’s relationship with the E3 has had many ups and downs. Right now, it is not the best, but he said he is still ready to talk. He has already had talks in Moscow and Beijing, and now he is ready to visit Paris, Berlin, and London to start talks again. He said that the next move is up to the E3 countries.
The European countries have been worried about how they work with the United States on this issue. They also have problems with Iran over other things like Iran’s missile program, the arrest of foreign people, and Iran’s support for Russia in the war in Ukraine. These problems have made the relationship between Iran and the European countries more difficult.
In simple terms, Iran is trying to keep talks going about its nuclear program, but there are many problems, and it’s not clear if Iran, the United States, and the European countries can all agree on a deal. These talks will depend on if the countries can work together or if other issues will get in the way.
