Furthermore, after Fox transitioned to a more senior role at the Privy Council Office, she facilitated the communication between Charles and senior officials again, which led to another job offer. The ethics report concluded that her series of actions favored the candidate, breaching established ethical standards.

During a session with a parliamentary committee, Fox faced rigorous questioning from Members of Parliament regarding her conduct. Some lawmakers highlighted her failure to acknowledge any wrongdoing explicitly. Faced with these allegations, Fox asserted her commitment to public service, promising to reflect seriously on her responsibilities moving forward.

In her defense, Fox argued her intentions were to enhance departmental performance and foster diversity in the hiring process. However, the ethics watchdog countered that even well-meaning efforts cannot excuse providing undue advantages.
