Kuala Lumpur, April 14, 2026 — Hydroshoppe Sdn Bhd, along with its director Abdul Hamid Shaikh Abdul Razak, has submitted a request to transfer a prominent bribery case to the High Court. This case revolves around claims of offering RM500,000 annually for 15 years associated with the acquisition of the Kuala Lumpur Tower concession.

The request was lodged on April 1 through their legal team, with the public prosecutor listed as the respondent. The defense team contends that the issues at hand are legally intricate and constitutional in nature, potentially surpassing the Sessions Court's jurisdiction.

In his declaration, Abdul Hamid expressed worries about self-incrimination and the possibility of facing double jeopardy, citing that both he and the company are facing separate charges stemming from the same allegations.

He further posited that moving the case to the High Court could facilitate a more thorough examination of constitutional matters and provide a pathway for appeals to higher courts, including the Federal Court if required.

These charges relate to an alleged bribery proposition made to former Communications and Multimedia Minister Annuar Musa, which was aimed at streamlining the takeover of the KL Tower concession. This alleged misconduct reportedly occurred between July and August 2022 in Putrajaya.

During the latest court session, Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Qistini Qamarul Abrar announced that the High Court is set to hear the transfer application on May 15. Consequently, the Sessions Court has postponed the trial dates originally planned for May 7 and 8 until this matter is resolved.

Under the provisions of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009, the charges entail severe penalties, including a potential 20 years of imprisonment or hefty fines. The case remains under the spotlight due to its intricate legal issues and the high profile involved.
