In Jerusalem, a tragic incident unfolded as an anti-tank missile launched from Lebanon struck an orchard near Margaliot, causing the death of an Indian national, Patnibin Maxwell, and injuring two others, Bush Joseph George and Paul Melvin, all hailing from Kerala. The missile hit the plantation in Margaliot, situated in the Galilee region, at approximately 11 am on Monday. Zaki Heller, spokesperson for Magen David Adom (MDA) rescue services, provided details about the incident.

Patnibin Maxwell's body was identified at Ziv Hospital. George, after sustaining injuries on his face and body, underwent a successful operation at Beilinson hospital in Petah Tikva. He is in stable condition and has been kept under observation, able to communicate with his family in India. Melvin, with minor injuries, is hospitalized at Ziv Hospital in Safed, hailing from the Idukki district of Kerala.

MDA initially reported one foreign worker killed and seven injured in the attack. Seven foreign workers were taken to Beilinson, Rambam, and Ziv hospitals, with two in serious condition. IDF responded by shelling the launch site with artillery.

The attack is believed to be orchestrated by the Shi'ite Hezbollah faction in Lebanon, supporting Hamas during the ongoing Gaza conflict. IDF retaliated by targeting a Hezbollah compound in Chihine, southern Lebanon, and another site in Ayta ash-Shab.

Since October 8, Hezbollah has targeted Israel's northern communities and military posts. Seven civilians and 10 IDF soldiers on the Israeli side have lost their lives in the skirmishes. Hezbollah reported 229 members killed by Israel, with casualties in both Lebanon and Syria. Additionally, 37 operatives from other groups, a Lebanese soldier, and at least 30 civilians have lost their lives since the conflict erupted. The situation remains tense with ongoing hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah.
