A Comprehensive Agenda of Global Perspectives

The forum has put together an extensive programme designed to engage participants from different sectors. There will be 51 sessions addressing the future of food security, health, education, and sustainability. In addition, seven inspiring talks by global leaders will provide participants with unique insights into government communication and its role in shaping society.

Participants will also have the chance to join 22 workshops, providing hands-on learning and interaction with experts. These workshops are intended to foster collaboration and offer practical solutions for current global challenges.

The event will conclude with the Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA) ceremony, which recognises excellence and innovation in government communication worldwide. This award highlights the role of communication in promoting development, trust, and sustainable policies in governments.

Strong Partnerships and Support

IGCF 2025 is supported by 30 partners, including government bodies, international organisations, research centres, and top technology and media companies. To encourage discussions and collaboration, the forum has established 22 interactive platforms where participants can exchange ideas and co-create initiatives that improve quality of life.

The forum is held in collaboration with strategic partners such as United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), the Department of Government Relations in Sharjah, Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, and Invest Bank. These partnerships aim to strengthen knowledge sharing and foster innovation in government communication.

University Involvement and the University Challenge

His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to the UAE President and Chancellor of UAEU University, highlighted the role of universities in the forum. He said, “Our participation in IGCF 2025, through the fourth edition of the University Challenge and a series of specialised discussions, reflects our commitment to advancing knowledge exchange and equipping students with government communication skills that address real societal issues. The forum is a strategic platform for shaping innovative ideas on the future of communication and sustainability in an increasingly digital world.”

The University Challenge encourages students to actively participate in discussions and competitions, helping them understand how communication strategies can impact real-world challenges, such as environmental sustainability and public health.

Government Communication as a Bridge

Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Executive Chairman of The Department of Government Relations in Sharjah, emphasised the importance of government communication. He explained, “We see government communication as a bridge that connects people and decision-makers based on participation and mutual respect. Through our partnership with IGCF, we are presenting sessions that highlight quality of life and the future of humanity, while sharing Sharjah’s experience in promoting wellbeing, prosperity, and sustainability.”

This perspective underlines that effective communication is not only about sharing information but also about creating trust, understanding, and collaboration between governments and communities.

Sharjah Broadcasting Authority’s Role

His Excellency Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, stressed the significance of the forum’s themes. He said, “This year’s forum addresses vital issues that shape daily life, including food security, the green economy, and environmental sustainability. By focusing on these themes, IGCF shows a clear understanding of how communication can drive sustainable development and build informed societies. We look forward to outcomes that will guide governments in shaping effective future strategies.”

The forum highlights how governments can use communication as a strategic tool to engage citizens and implement policies that benefit society as a whole.

Private Sector Support

Edris Al Rafi, CEO of Invest Bank, highlighted the role of the private sector in supporting communication and development. He said, “We are proud to support IGCF’s vision of fostering dialogue, innovation, and collaboration between institutions and communities. At Invest Bank, we believe effective communication is the cornerstone of trust and the key to achieving sustainable growth.”

Private sector involvement demonstrates the importance of partnerships between governments, universities, and businesses in shaping policies and solutions that enhance the quality of life.

Focus on Five Global Priorities

IGCF 2025 revolves around five global priorities that are crucial for the wellbeing of societies worldwide:

  1. Food Security – Discussions will focus on ensuring access to safe and sufficient food for all, with attention to sustainable practices and innovative solutions.

  2. Public Health – Sessions will explore strategies to improve healthcare systems, pandemic preparedness, and health communication.

  3. Education – The forum will highlight the role of education in shaping informed citizens and preparing students for future challenges.

  4. Environmental Sustainability – Panels will cover topics like climate change, renewable energy, and reducing environmental impact.

  5. Green Economy – Participants will learn how sustainable economic strategies can support growth while protecting the planet.

By focusing on these priorities, the forum underlines the importance of communication in connecting governments and societies and driving policies that improve quality of life globally.

Innovation and Technology in Communication

IGCF 2025 also highlights the role of innovation and technology as key drivers in modern government communication. Experts will share insights on how digital tools, social media, and advanced technologies can enhance transparency, participation, and engagement between governments and citizens.

The forum creates a platform for international exchange, where participants can learn from global best practices and apply these ideas to their own countries and communities.

The 14th edition of IGCF in Sharjah promises to be a landmark event in the field of government communication. With 237 speakers, 110 activities, and strong support from government, academic, and private institutions, the forum highlights the vital role of communication in improving quality of life.

Through discussions on food security, public health, education, environmental sustainability, and the green economy, IGCF 2025 aims to provide actionable insights for policymakers, institutions, and citizens alike. By combining innovation, technology, and strategic partnerships, the forum reinforces the importance of communication as a bridge that connects people and governments, fostering trust, collaboration, and sustainable growth worldwide.
