His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, actively participated in a humanitarian aid collection drive held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) to support the people of Lebanon. This event was part of the ongoing UAE stands with Lebanon campaign, marking the second such effort in Abu Dhabi within just two weeks.
The aid drive successfully gathered an impressive 150 tonnes of food, medical supplies, and shelter equipment, thanks to the collective efforts of around 2,287 volunteers from various backgrounds. These contributions will significantly assist those affected in Lebanon.
Sheikh Hamdan was accompanied by notable figures, including his children, Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Member of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council; Omar Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications; His Excellency Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Red Crescent; and His Excellency Abdulhamid Mohammed Al Ahmad, Chairman of the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Authority, among other dignitaries.

During the event, Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the importance of social solidarity and the institutional coordination that has characterized the campaign since its inception. He highlighted the cohesive Emirati community approach to humanitarian issues, reflecting the nation’s commitment to aiding those in need.
"This campaign is a true testament to our spirit of brotherhood and human values," he stated. "It stems from the solid foundations laid down by our founder, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who stressed the importance of helping those in need wherever they may be."
By the campaign's conclusion, the total amount of in-kind donations for relief aid had reached an impressive 1,100 tonnes. Launched on October 8, 2024, following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the initiative has received consistent support from His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, as well as oversight from His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Martyrs' Families Affairs.
Since the campaign began, the UAE has dispatched 13 relief aid planes to Lebanon, delivering approximately 560 tonnes of essential supplies to assist women and children, among others.
The Emirates Red Crescent Authority successfully managed the aid event at ADNEC under the supervision of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, coordinating with a wide array of Emirati donor agencies. These included the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, and several other charitable organizations dedicated to humanitarian efforts across the region.
