His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, recently met with graduates of leadership development programmes for Uzbek government employees in Tashkent. This meeting, attended by Her Excellency Saida Mirziyoyeva, Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan, underscores the commitment of the UAE to fostering human capital development as part of the broader strategic partnership between the two nations.
During the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the UAE’s dedication to investing in its workforce, viewing human potential as a vital component of sustainable development. He articulated that the progress of the nation is intrinsically linked to the investment in its people and highlighted the importance of nurturing skills and capabilities across all sectors.

Sheikh Hamdan noted that the UAE has established a unique model for leadership development and capacity-building within its government. This initiative is aligned with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Under their guidance, the UAE has made significant investments in preparing future leaders and fortifying its national workforce.
He also stressed the importance of collaboration with global governments through knowledge exchange and the sharing of best practices. The UAE’s leadership development model has become a vital resource for other nations aiming to enhance their human capital and develop talent. This approach not only strengthens bilateral ties but also supports international efforts in building effective governance.
Furthermore, Sheikh Hamdan acknowledged the essential role that the graduates of the Uzbek leadership programmes will play in fostering innovation and improving government services. He expressed confidence that these individuals would contribute significantly to the design and implementation of initiatives that enhance the quality of life for citizens in Uzbekistan, aligning with the country's ambitious future objectives.
The strategic partnership between the UAE and Uzbekistan, initiated in 2019, has placed leadership and capacity building at the forefront of their collaboration, which consists of 14 key pillars aimed at improving public service excellence. This partnership has already shown promising results, with over 2.8 million individuals receiving training through more than 681 workshops, totaling approximately 26 million working hours dedicated to enhancing skills and capabilities in various sectors.
