His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, attended the exciting competitions on the second day of the sixth edition of DUBAI GAMES 2025.
This year’s event is taking place at Dubai Festival City and is bigger than ever, with 244 teams from different countries participating. DP World is the official partner of the tournament, while DAMAC Group and Emarat have joined as diamond partners. The event is organized in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council and will continue until 23 February.

During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed shared his thoughts on Dubai’s commitment to promoting an active and healthy lifestyle. He said, “Dubai is leading the way in encouraging people to stay fit and make sports a part of their daily lives. We will continue working to build a society where fitness and well-being are top priorities.”
The second day of the event was packed with thrilling moments, especially in the Battle of the Government for Men competition. Four teams secured their places in the grand final, which is scheduled for Sunday, 23 February. Abu Dhabi Police took the lead with 121 points, followed by the Department of Land and Real Estate Regulation – Ajman, which scored 113.74 points. The Ministry of Defence finished in third place with 113.63 points, while Dubai State Security earned the final qualification spot with 112.19 points. Fans are eagerly waiting for what promises to be an exciting final.
Another major highlight of the day was the first round of the Battle of the Cities, which has grown significantly this year, welcoming 50 teams from across the world. The competition includes participants from the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Denmark, Australia, Norway, the United Kingdom, the United States, Spain, Italy, Germany, Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, France, Portugal, and more.
The third day of the championship will bring even more action, with the continuation of the Battle of the Cities and the launch of the Battle of the Community. Excitement is at an all-time high as competitors give their best performances in hopes of securing victory.
DUBAI GAMES has earned strong backing from both public and private sector partners, reinforcing its status as one of the world’s top team-based sporting events. Along with DP World as the official partner, the event is supported by DAMAC Group and Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (Emarat) as diamond partners. Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), First Abu Dhabi Bank, and M42 are gold sponsors, while C4 is a bronze sponsor. Dubai Festival City serves as the official venue partner, Al Futtaim Automotive is a supporting partner, and Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) is the telecommunication partner. Dubai Media Incorporated and Arabian Radio Network are media partners, with additional support from Adidas, Viya, and Mai Dubai.
The 2025 edition of DUBAI GAMES features 244 teams across different categories. This includes 84 teams competing in the Battle of the Government – Men, 26 teams in the Battle of the Government – Women, 28 teams in the Battle of the Community, and 50 teams in the Battle of the Cities. Additionally, 56 teams participated in the Battle of Juniors, which took place at DAMAC HILLS on 8 February. The main championship is being held from 20 to 23 February at Dubai Festival City, with a total prize pool of over AED 3.1 million.
DUBAI GAMES has been rebranded with a fresh identity, making it an even more inspiring platform that encourages young people to stay active. The event represents values like renewal, ambition, and resilience, reflecting Dubai’s energetic and forward-thinking spirit.
