So, what is AI Mode, and how does it work?
AI Mode is a smart search tool made by Google. It was first introduced in March 2025 in some countries. But now, Google is showing it to more people so that everyone knows about it.
This tool is powered by Gemini, which is Google’s most advanced language model. With AI Mode, you can:
Ask difficult or many-part questions
Get detailed answers made by AI
Talk to it using text, voice, or even by uploading images
It is like having a conversation with Google instead of typing many separate questions. It saves time because it gives a complete answer in one go.
Why is Google doing this promotion now?
Usually, Google uses its homepage for special Doodles. But this time, it used the homepage to tell people about AI Mode. A Google spokesperson said it was “just a fun promo” to make people aware of this feature.
In May, Google also tested placing an AI Mode shortcut where the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button used to be. This shows that Google wants users to try AI Mode and make it part of their daily search habits.
Why is AI so important for Google?
Other AI tools like ChatGPT by OpenAI, Claude by Anthropic, and Perplexity AI are becoming popular. Google wants to stay ahead by improving its search with AI. By promoting AI Mode on its homepage, Google wants everyone to use this smarter, chat-based way of searching.
Google’s AI Mode is a big step towards the future of search, where you get better answers quickly by just chatting with its Gemini-powered AI.
