Abdelatty said he hopes to keep working together with Belgium in politics, economy, and investments. He mentioned that Belgium has played a big role in the Egypt-EU Investment Conference in June 2024. This conference led to a big deal between the two countries to build a green hydrogen plant in the Port of Gargoub.
Abdelatty also talked about the changes the Egyptian government has made to improve the country’s economy and make it easier for companies to invest. He believes these changes will help attract more investments from countries like Belgium.
Abdelatty said he wants to make an agreement with Belgium about controlling migration. He hopes this agreement will help both countries work better on the issue. He also asked Belgium to support Egypt’s request for 4 billion euros from the European Union to help Egypt’s economy.
Another important topic was the return of stolen Egyptian artifacts. Abdelatty said Egypt is working hard to bring back these important items and asked Belgium to help Egypt recover the stolen pieces.
Abdelatty also talked about problems in the Middle East, like the situations in Syria, Libya, Sudan, and Somalia. He asked the European Union to help Egypt deal with these challenges, as the safety of both the Middle East and Europe is linked.
The two ministers also talked about the ceasefire in Gaza. Abdelatty mentioned that Egypt, Qatar, and the United States worked hard to reach this ceasefire. Belgium’s Foreign Minister praised Egypt for its key role in bringing peace to the area.
Both ministers agreed that Egypt and Belgium should keep working together to solve problems and make the region more peaceful.
