flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, has announced a new strategic agreement with TAROM, Romania’s national airline. This agreement, known as an interline partnership, allows flydubai passengers to travel seamlessly to 15 destinations across TAROM’s network. Travelers can now connect through Bucharest International Airport (OTP) and reach cities across Europe, including Athens, Amsterdam, Brussels, Cluj-Napoca, Frankfurt, Madrid, and Paris.
This agreement makes travel easier for passengers, as it provides a single ticket for flights across both airlines, along with baggage check-in to the final destination. This is part of flydubai’s ongoing efforts to give passengers more travel choices, simplify flight connections, and strengthen Dubai’s position as a global hub for aviation.

Statement from flydubai Leadership
Ramesh Anantharaman, Divisional Senior Vice President of Revenue Management and Business Effectiveness at flydubai, expressed his excitement about this new partnership. He said: “We are excited to add TAROM to our growing list of interline partners. This newest agreement will enable flydubai customers to benefit from greater access between Dubai and TAROM’s regional network across Eastern and Central Europe, enhancing trade, tourism, and cultural exchange. Through this agreement, customers can enjoy simplified travel itineraries, a single ticket booking, and through check-in of baggage to their final destination.”
This statement highlights the benefits of the partnership for travelers. Passengers will have more options for flights, making it easier to travel between the UAE, Romania, and other European cities. The agreement also supports business and tourism by making travel faster, more convenient, and more comfortable.
flydubai’s Journey in Romania
flydubai has been flying to Bucharest, Romania’s capital, since 2012. Over the years, the airline has seen an increase in passenger demand. More people from the UAE are traveling to Romania, and more Romanians are flying to Dubai for business, leisure, and tourism.
By joining forces with TAROM, flydubai continues to grow its network and connect passengers to previously underserved markets. The airline now operates flights to more than 135 destinations across 57 countries, opening more than 100 new routes that did not previously have direct flights to Dubai.
This growth helps Dubai maintain its position as a leading global aviation hub. It also provides travelers with convenient connections and more opportunities to explore new destinations.
Statement from TAROM Leadership
Costin Iordache, General Manager of TAROM, shared his thoughts on the partnership: “As Romania’s national carrier, TAROM is delighted to join hands with flydubai. It is a natural step in our strategy to facilitate connectivity between the cities we operate in and the most interesting travel destinations. Together we will offer passengers safe, reliable, and convenient travel options, connecting our regions and supporting tourism and business.”
This agreement allows both airlines to support trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between their countries. Passengers benefit from easier travel planning, better flight connections, and reliable service.
Passenger Experience on flydubai
flydubai offers a modern and comfortable flying experience for all passengers.
Business Class: Travelers can enjoy lie-flat seats, internationally inspired meals, and hours of entertainment. The seats are designed for comfort, so passengers can rest or work during long flights.
Economy Class: Passengers can relax in seats with gentle recline and adjustable leather headrests. They also have access to a wide range of entertainment options.
With this partnership, passengers traveling from Dubai to Bucharest or other destinations in Europe can enjoy a seamless journey. Their luggage will be checked in from the start to the end of their trip, and they can book a single ticket for flights on both airlines.
flydubai Flight Schedule in Romania
Currently, flydubai operates double daily flights from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP). The airline is also planning to add Iași as its second destination in Romania from 19 September 2025. This expansion will make travel between Dubai and Romania even easier for passengers.
The addition of Iași will provide more options for travelers visiting Romania for business, tourism, or family purposes. The airline continues to focus on serving underserved markets, offering safe and efficient travel experiences.
Benefits of the Partnership
The interline agreement between flydubai and TAROM brings many advantages for passengers, airlines, and countries:
Simplified Travel: Passengers can book a single ticket for flights on both airlines.
Through Check-in: Luggage is checked through to the final destination, reducing hassle during connections.
Increased Destinations: Travelers have access to 15 TAROM destinations, including popular European cities.
Business and Tourism Growth: Easier travel encourages tourism and strengthens trade relations between the UAE and Romania.
Improved Travel Experience: Both airlines offer comfortable seating, meals, and entertainment options for passengers.
flydubai’s Fleet and Network
flydubai operates a modern fleet of 93 Boeing 737 aircraft, which are efficient, reliable, and capable of serving new routes. The airline has opened over 100 routes to cities that previously had no direct connection with Dubai, supporting the growth of global travel.
By partnering with TAROM, flydubai extends its network across Eastern and Central Europe, making it easier for travelers to access Romania and beyond. The airline’s focus on modern aircraft, efficient operations, and customer comfort ensures passengers have a smooth and enjoyable journey.
The partnership between flydubai and TAROM is a significant step in improving travel options for passengers in the UAE, Romania, and Europe. It allows for simplified flight bookings, seamless luggage check-ins, and access to new destinations.
Both airlines aim to enhance tourism, business, and cultural exchanges between their countries. With this agreement, travelers can enjoy safe, reliable, and convenient flights, whether they are traveling for leisure, business, or family purposes.
flydubai continues to strengthen its position as a leading airline in the region, connecting Dubai to more than 135 destinations worldwide. The partnership with TAROM is another step in offering passengers more choices, better connections, and an improved travel experience.
