Al Ain, Abu Dhabi – Gabriel Sousa solidified his position in the lightweight category as the 11th Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship (ADXC 11) came to a close at the ADNEC Centre in Al Ain. Featuring elite grappling and jiu-jitsu competitors from various corners of the globe, the event offered a thrilling evening of high-caliber martial arts.

In the spotlight match, Brazilian star Sousa demonstrated absolute dominance over fellow countryman Ruan Alvarenga, finishing with a rear-naked choke. This stellar performance highlighted his technical skill and tactical acumen, winning praise from both fans and fellow fighters.

Another standout moment included Daniel Barbosa’s remarkable victory against Haibula Aviev in a captivating showdown. The night comprised ten fierce matches of jiu-jitsu and grappling, all taking place within ADXC's hallmark octagonal cage.

The championship welcomed notable attendees, including His Excellency Saleh Mohammed Al Geziry, Director General for Tourism, and Saeed Al Dhaheri, Director of Destination Management at the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi. Their presence emphasized the event's rising significance on the global combat sports scene.

Tareq Al Bahri, Deputy General Manager of International Vision Investment, lauded the athletes’ commitment: “We have witnessed remarkable intensity and skill tonight. ADXC continues to establish itself as a leading platform for combat sports, providing unforgettable experiences for fans globally. Congratulations to all participants for an extraordinary edition.”

In his post-match reflection, Sousa shared, “This victory is thrilling and marks a significant milestone for me. ADXC always pushes my limits, and I’m thankful to Abu Dhabi, my family, and all my supporters.”

The co-main grappling event saw American Helena Crevar grab her second submission victory inside the ADXC cage, outmaneuvering Salla Simola from Finland. Crevar stated: “I aimed to attack her legs early, and despite her defense, I persevered until I got the submission. I’m proud of this achievement here.”

The audience enjoyed swift, high-stakes contests throughout both the main and preliminary sections, with key results including Seilkhan Bolatbek's unanimous decision win over Kenzo Biyong, Arthur Souza's triumph over Breno Pittizer, and Emirati Ammar Al Hosani's victory against Kazakhstan's Dabyl Abdulla, along with impressive showings by Joao Arthur, Felipe Fernandes, Obaid Al Ketbi, and Raimundo Almeida.

ADXC 11 further established Abu Dhabi as a leading destination for elite combat sports, offering an unforgettable experience for both athletes and fans.
