After months of disciplined training and long hours in classrooms, simulators, and the skies, 77 cadets marked a defining moment in their aviation journey at the Emirates Flight Training Academy’s sixth graduation ceremony in Dubai.
The event highlighted the Academy’s growing role in preparing future pilots for Emirates and the wider aviation industry. With this batch, the total number of EFTA graduates has crossed 300, many of whom are now flying or completing advanced training on Emirates’ wide-body aircraft.
The ceremony was attended by senior leaders from the Emirates Group, along with graduates’ families, friends, faculty members, and fellow cadets. It reflected the importance the airline places on structured, high-quality pilot training at a time when global aviation continues to see strong demand for skilled flight crew.
Of the 77 graduates, 52 were part of the UAE National Pilot Cadet Programme, while the remaining 25 cadets represented 15 different nationalities. The programme remains the UAE’s largest initiative dedicated to developing Emirati pilots, offering full sponsorship and a clear pathway from training to the cockpit of Emirates aircraft after type rating.
EFTA follows an integrated training model that combines academic learning, advanced flight technology, and leadership development. Cadets progress from theory to hands-on flying through close coordination with Emirates’ flight training division, ensuring that their skills align closely with the airline’s operational standards and safety culture.
Five cadets were recognised for outstanding performance during the year, while one cadet received special recognition for diligence and consistency throughout the programme.
Based in Dubai South, the Academy offers a residential campus designed to support focused training. Cadets live on-site in private studio apartments and have access to sports and recreational facilities, allowing them to fully concentrate on the demanding schedule without daily travel.
The EFTA campus spans an area comparable to 200 football fields and includes modern classrooms, full-motion flight simulators, a dedicated air traffic control tower, and its own runway. Training is supported by purpose-built software developed in collaboration with Boeing, along with a modern fleet of 32 training aircraft.
Launched in 2017, the Emirates Flight Training Academy continues to play a key role in building a steady pipeline of well-trained pilots, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global aviation hub and supporting the long-term growth plans of Emirates Airline.
