Yesterday, Emirates reached a major milestone with the airline's first Airbus A350 taking to the skies in commercial service, operating its maiden flight between Dubai and Festival City. It was a proud moment for the airline as it took delivery of its newest fleet member, featuring a new-level of cabin design for an enhanced passenger experience and improved service. This flight marks the start of an exciting new chapter for the airline as Emirates will receive a total of 65[] Airbus A350s over the next few years.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, described this occasion as a key step forward for the airline. He emphasized that launching the Airbus A350 on its maiden flight to Festival City highlights the strategic importance of the UK Within Emirates' global network. He noted that the A350 offers exceptional inflight comfort, with upgrades and enhancements in every cabin. For Emirates, bringing in more A350s means more than just expanding the fleet; it's about setting new standards for air travel across the globe.
The Emirates A350 is designed to enhance passenger comfort and includes many new features. It boasts redesigned Economy cabins and ultra-responsive 4k touchscreens with the best image quality available on any aircraft. The A350's spacious interior features higher ceilings and wider aisles, ensuring a more pleasant experience for passengers in every class.

Kate Sherry, Chief Commercial Officer at Festival City Airport, also expressed her pride in welcoming the Emirates A350. She described the arrival of the new aircraft as the perfect way to ring in 2025 at Edinburgh Airport. She Highlighted that Emirates selecting the Edinburg-Dubai route for its inaugural Flight demonstrates confidence in the route's Significance and the airline's commitment to improving passenger experience with modern aircraft.
Passengers also benefit from faster Wi-Fi With uninterrupted global connectivity, making it easier to stay connected during their journey. The Airbus A350 is not only one of the most fuel-efficient large aircraft in service today but also has the quietest cabin of any twin-aisle plane. Emirates has configured this aircraft to include three cabin classes, with 32 Business class lie-flat seats, 21 Premium Economy Seats, and 259 spacious Economy Class Seats, accommodating 312 Passengers.
The arrival of the Emirates A350 in Edinburgh follows the airline's resumption of flights to the city in November 2024. Emirates operates 14 weekly flights to Scotland, including its A380 service to Glasgow. These Flights offer travelers enhanced connectivity to over 140 destinations across the airline's extensive global network.
In the coming months, the Emirates A350 will begin serving additional destinations, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lyon, Muscat, and Bologna, bringing its next-generation travel experience to more Passengers worldwide.
The inaugural A350 flight between Edinburgh and Dubai Introduced Passengers to a special menu celebrating Scottish flavors. Business class Passengers enjoyed dishes such as broccoli and Lanark Blue cheese soup, smoked salmon with caviar and cranberries, tender Angus beef fillet from Aberdeen, and balmoral chicken served with tatties and needs. Dessert featured a delicious cranachan cheesecake with raspberry coulis. Economy Class Passengers also enjoyed regional delicacies, including a potato champ salad with smoked salmon, cheddar cheese with oat biscuits, and Walker's shortbread biscuits.

With its focus on delivering the best travel experience and expanding its global reach, Emirates Continues to connect people and destinations while raising the standards for air travel.
