Emirates, the largest international airline in the world, will add a new flight between Colombo and Dubai starting January 2, 2025. This new flight will give more options for travelers and increase the number of seats by 30%. It will also support Sri Lanka’s plan to bring more tourists to the country in 2025.

The new flight will be called EK654/655. It will fly six days a week, every day except Wednesday, until March 31, 2025. Flight EK654 will leave Dubai at 10:05 in the morning and reach Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at 4:00 in the afternoon, local time. The return flight, EK655, will leave Colombo at 10:05 at night and land in Dubai at 1:05 in the morning the next day.

Starting April 1, 2025, Emirates will add another flight on Wednesdays. On Wednesdays, the flight will leave Colombo at 10:05 at night and reach Dubai at 12:55 in the morning. The flight from Dubai to Colombo will leave at 1:20 in the afternoon and arrive in Colombo at 7:15 in the evening.

The new flight will have 360 seats. There will be 8 First Class seats, 42 Business Class seats, and 310 Economy Class seats. This means passengers will get excellent service while having more travel options. Emirates already has two direct flights between Colombo and Dubai and one more flight that goes through Male.

Emirates has been working with Sri Lanka Tourism for many years. They have been working together to show the beauty of Sri Lanka to people all over the world. This new flight will help Sri Lanka’s goal of bringing 3 million tourists to the country in 2025. Sri Lanka also wants to attract travelers who love nature by showing its beautiful wildlife and cultural history.

Emirates started flying to Sri Lanka in April 1986. Since then, the airline has helped Sri Lanka’s tourism and business by flying passengers and goods. So far, over 12 million people have traveled with Emirates to and from Colombo.

With this new service, Emirates will have four flights every day between Colombo and Dubai. These flights will offer over 2,800 seats daily. They will also allow up to 160 tonnes of goods to be transported, which will help Sri Lanka sell its products to other countries.

An Emirates official said, “We are happy to support Sri Lanka’s growth. This new flight will give more choices to travelers and help Sri Lanka bring more tourists and grow its economy.”

By adding this new service, Emirates is showing its strong commitment to helping Sri Lanka grow. This will make it easier for people to travel and help Sri Lanka’s tourism and economy get stronger.
