DP World Launches Sokhna Logistics Park, Boosting Trade

DP World has officially inaugurated the Sokhna Logistics Park, marking a significant step in strengthening Egypt’s position as a regional and global trade hub. Situated in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), the park is designed to streamline logistics, support exports, and attract business investment.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by top Egyptian officials, including Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, along with key ministers and global business leaders. DP World’s Group Chairman and CEO, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, highlighted the company’s commitment to building a sustainable, fully integrated logistics ecosystem in Egypt.

Strategic Location and Infrastructure

The park is strategically located just 15 minutes from Sokhna Port, 30 minutes from Suez, and 45 minutes from the New Administrative Capital, providing unmatched connectivity. It covers nearly 300,000 square metres upon completion and is being developed in two phases. Phase one is already operational, while phase two is expected by Q3 2026.

The facility offers both bonded and non-bonded logistics solutions, on-site customs inspections, and a dedicated customer portal, supporting industries like agriculture, electronics, automotive components, construction materials, textiles, and electric vehicles.

Investment and Job Creation

DP World is investing USD 85 million in the park. Phase one has created over 150 jobs, with employment expected to exceed 300 once the project is fully completed. Additionally, a 16,000 m² cold storage facility is under construction in 6th of October City with a USD 29 million investment, enhancing Egypt’s cold chain capabilities.

Supporting Egypt’s Trade Growth

Since 2008, DP World has invested over USD 1.3 billion in Egypt, modernizing Sokhna Port, expanding capacity, and integrating supply chains. The new logistics park is part of a broader strategy to build an end-to-end logistics ecosystem that supports seamless trade flows and sustainable economic growth.

With strong interest from businesses—90 customers are already in the pipeline—the Sokhna Logistics Park is set to become a pivotal hub for trade in Egypt, bridging local production with global markets.
