Dubai will host a major international sports event later this year — the World Sports Summit, scheduled for December 29 and 30, 2025, at Madinat Jumeirah. The announcement was made by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.
This two-day gathering, organized by the Dubai Sports Council, will welcome well-known athletes, coaches, sports officials, business leaders, and international media. The goal is to create an open and meaningful dialogue about how to strengthen and improve the world of sports in the years ahead.
Strong Vision and Leadership
Sheikh Hamdan, who is deeply involved in promoting health and fitness in Dubai, described the summit as an important milestone. He said the event shows Dubai’s serious commitment to growing the sports sector — both locally and globally.
“The summit is not just another event,” he said. “It’s a chance to exchange ideas and plan for the future of sports. We’re proud to host it here in Dubai.”
He also highlighted the importance of youth development, education, and innovation. According to him, training young talent in schools, clubs, and academies is crucial for building strong national teams and international sports careers.
What to Expect at the Summit
The summit will feature a variety of sessions aimed at sparking ideas and sharing knowledge. These include:
Talks by global sports figures
Panel discussions on youth training, women's sports, business models, and fan experience
Workshops focused on sports data and new technologies
Networking sessions for club owners, investors, and officials
Student and coach meet-ups for learning and collaboration
Each session will look at how sports can bring people together, support social development, and open up new opportunities for young people and communities worldwide.
Why Dubai Is the Right Host
Dubai has already made a name for itself as a world-class host of major sports events. From tennis championships and international golf tournaments to cricket and mixed martial arts, the city has shown it can handle events of global importance with professionalism and style.
Its strong infrastructure, safe environment, and hospitality make Dubai an ideal venue. And with its location at the crossroads of East and West, the city is well-positioned to connect sports leaders from every corner of the globe.
A Global Gathering with Lasting Impact
More than 1,000 delegates from over 70 countries are expected to attend. Media coverage will come from top sports broadcasters and digital outlets. Government officials, club executives, and thought leaders will all take part in shaping the future of sports.
The summit comes at a time when the sports world is going through major changes. New digital tools are changing how fans engage. Mental health has become a top concern for athletes. And clubs are exploring smarter ways to train, perform, and connect with fans.
Dubai’s World Sports Summit aims to offer clear strategies and real solutions to these issues — with input from some of the best minds in the business.
