His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, led the Council’s 88th meeting, which was held online. The meeting was also attended by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Council, along with other important members like:

HE Marwan bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality

The Council reviewed the progress on biofuel and green hydrogen projects. These are types of clean energy that do not harm the environment like regular fuels do. These efforts are helping Dubai become a leading place in the world for clean and smart energy solutions.
The meeting also talked about the World Green Economy Organization, which is helping Dubai make global connections and train local talent to become leaders in using green energy.
One more important topic was the Demand Side Management Strategy 2050. This plan is all about saving electricity, water, and fuel. The goal is to save 30% by 2030 and 50% by 2050 compared to how much is usually used if nothing changes.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer said, “Following the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, we want Dubai to be a world leader in energy savings. That’s why we are working on strong projects that use clean energy. These projects support the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050. We want all of Dubai’s energy to come from clean sources by 2050.”
He also mentioned that biofuel and green hydrogen projects will help Dubai have a better mix of energy sources, supporting both the environment and the economy at the same time.
In short, Dubai is working hard to become cleaner, greener, and smarter when it comes to energy, and these projects are key steps toward that bright future.
