Commitment to Upskilling Media Professionals
Maryam Al Mulla, Acting Director of the Dubai Press Club, said that the workshop reflects the club’s dedication to helping media professionals stay updated with the latest technology. She explained that AI is now a major part of the media industry, and it is important for journalists and content creators to know how to use it effectively.
She added, “By working with the Dubai Future Academy, we were able to offer a hands-on learning experience. This allowed participants to explore AI-powered content creation and gain skills they can use in their work.”
Maryam also pointed out that the workshop is part of a larger effort to enhance Arabic media content both locally and across the region.
Empowering Media Professionals with AI Skills
Dr. Qasem, who led the session, said the workshop gave media professionals the chance to use AI in their daily work. It introduced them to language models, image generation, and video creation, helping them develop advanced skills.
He highlighted that the session also covered the challenges and risks of using AI, stressing the importance of using the technology responsibly. Dr. Qasem said that while AI can boost productivity, it is essential to understand its limitations to avoid errors and misuse.

Driving Innovation in Media
Mahfoudha Abdullah Saleh, Media Talent Development Specialist at DPC, thanked the Dubai Future Academy for its support in organizing the workshop. She said the club is committed to partnering with top organizations to enhance the skills of media professionals, especially in emerging technologies.
The event is part of a series of specialized programmes organized by DPC in collaboration with leading media and educational institutions. These initiatives aim to keep media professionals ahead of technological advancements, helping them develop strong digital skills, including AI expertise.
The workshop is part of Dubai’s broader efforts to strengthen its media sector, ensuring it continues to meet global standards and remain innovative in the digital age.
