In 2024, Dubai Mall set a new record by welcoming over 111 million visitors, surpassing its previous record of 105 million in 2023.
Dubai Mall, one of the most popular malls in the world, is set to launch a new section at the start of the holy month of Ramzan, expected to begin on March 1.
Mohamed Alabbar, CEO and Managing Director of Emaar Properties, recently shared a mall map on X (formerly Twitter), announcing that the new section will feature 65 exclusive brands and F&B outlets.
The mall map highlights a large area labeled “Opening Soon” on the ground floor, located between Level Shoes and Blancpain, a Swiss watch brand.

This expansion is part of Emaar’s Dh1.5 billion redevelopment plan for Dubai Mall, which was announced in June 2024. The ongoing project will add 240 luxury stores and restaurants, enhancing the mall’s shopping experience.
When Dubai Mall first opened in 2008, it had around 1,000 shops. Initially, it was called The Dubai Mall, but later, the word “The” was dropped, similar to how Facebook changed its name to just Meta. Today, the mall continues to attract both locals and international tourists.
As the world’s second-largest shopping mall, covering 1.2 million square meters, Dubai Mall offers more than 1,200 retail outlets, a wide range of international dining options, and top-class entertainment attractions, including:
Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo
Reel Cinemas
KidZania Dubai
Ekart Zabeel
With its latest expansion and growing visitor numbers, Dubai Mall continues to strengthen its position as one of the most visited shopping and entertainment destinations in the world.
