The trade mission featured representatives from 13 Dubai-based companies spanning various sectors, including electronics, food and beverages, pipeline products, information technology, brand protection, airport services, retail, textiles, and energy solutions.
To enhance collaboration, Dubai International Chamber hosted a business forum titled “Doing Business with Serbia,” supported by the UAE Embassy in Belgrade and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS). The forum included keynotes from prominent figures, including H.E. Ahmed Almenhali, UAE Ambassador to Serbia; H.E. Adrijana Mesarović, Serbia’s Minister of Economy; and Milovan Kocić, Vice President of the CCIS. The event drew 208 attendees, including senior government officials, business leaders, and Serbian firms eager to explore potential partnerships.
During the forum, Dubai Chambers and the CCIS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation between their respective business communities. This agreement will facilitate trade missions, conferences, and events while promoting the sharing of knowledge and expertise to support mutual growth and innovation.
His Excellency Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, emphasized the organization’s commitment to strengthening Dubai’s economic ties globally. He stated that this trade mission reflects ongoing efforts to unlock opportunities for Dubai-based businesses in promising markets like Serbia, ultimately contributing to bilateral trade growth and reinforcing Dubai's status as a global business hub.
According to Dubai Customs data, non-oil trade between Dubai and Serbia reached AED 233.9 million in 2023. By the end of the first half of 2024, 202 Serbian companies were registered as active members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, with 39 new registrations in that six-month period.
During the forum, Hassan Al Hashemi, Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, presented an overview of Dubai's economic landscape, highlighting the competitive advantages available to Serbian enterprises. The event also featured a panel discussion, where experts from key economic sectors shared insights on conducting business in Serbia, providing valuable perspectives on the local business environment.
