Following the directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Humanitarian has taken swift action to deliver critical aid to those affected by the ongoing conflict in Lebanon. In collaboration with the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), the initiative has successfully mobilized 192 metric tonnes of relief supplies to support the displaced populations in Lebanon.
On November 4, a convoy consisting of 27 trucks, funded through Dubai Humanitarian’s Global Humanitarian Impact Fund, departed from Dubai to transport the essential aid. The large-scale shipment is part of a broader humanitarian effort to ensure that vital supplies reach vulnerable communities in Lebanon, where the situation has become increasingly dire as the harsh winter season approaches.

Dubai Humanitarian’s Chairman, His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, emphasized the UAE’s unwavering commitment to assisting Lebanon during these difficult times. “Guided by the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai stands firmly by Lebanon in its time of need. This convoy reflects our collective compassion and dedication to easing the suffering of those affected by this crisis,” he said.
The relief operation is a testament to the strength of partnerships between the UAE and international organizations such as UNHCR. Khaled Khalifa, UNHCR’s Senior Advisor and Representative to the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, expressed gratitude for the timely support. He highlighted that the shipment would address the urgent needs of displaced families who have lost their homes and are now facing the hardships of the coming winter. "This is another significant step in our shared vision with Dubai Humanitarian, helping those who have been left vulnerable by the conflict," Khalifa remarked.
Lebanon has seen a rapid increase in the number of displaced individuals, with official government estimates suggesting that more than 1.2 million people have fled their homes due to the ongoing hostilities and frequent Israeli airstrikes. The most affected regions include South Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley, and Beirut’s southern suburbs, areas that are now overwhelmed with the displaced population.
As the crisis deepens, the need for humanitarian assistance grows. Basic resources such as shelter, healthcare, cash assistance, and psychosocial support have become essential for those trying to survive in the face of increasing challenges. Relief agencies working on the ground are struggling to meet the escalating demands, with funding shortages and limited access to safe and secure spaces for those displaced.
The convoy is just one part of an ongoing effort to assist Lebanon, but it is a significant one, symbolizing the UAE's continued role as a critical humanitarian partner in the region. As the winter months intensify, the UAE's swift response offers much-needed relief to communities that are bracing for even tougher conditions ahead.
