DP World has made significant progress in building the Sokhna Logistics Park, with 65% of the first phase now completed. This $80 million project is a modern logistics hub located in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE). Once finished, it will strengthen Egypt’s logistics infrastructure and help position the country as an important trade hub in the region.
The logistics park covers an area of 300,000 square meters and will offer cost-effective and efficient supply chain solutions. It will use DP World’s global network to improve trade operations. The entire project is expected to be completed by June 2025. Once operational, it will help businesses save on logistics costs and improve trade links between Egypt, the Middle East, Africa, and other parts of the world.
The park is located just ten kilometres from Sokhna Port, giving it direct access to key markets in Greater Cairo and important industrial zones. This prime location will allow businesses to move goods quickly and reduce operational expenses.

Designed to meet high international standards, the facility will support different industries, including agriculture, pharmaceuticals, retail, automotive, and textiles. It will have bonded and non-bonded warehouses, office spaces, open cargo and container yards. The park will offer logistics services such as warehousing, freight forwarding, customs clearing, and value-added services like labelling, coding, sorting, packing, and inspection.
Ranjit Ray, Senior Vice President for Economic Zones in the MENA region at DP World, shared his thoughts on the project’s progress. He said, “We are happy with how much we have achieved so far and are committed to finishing the first phase soon. This facility will handle different types of cargo for imports, exports, and transit. It will be closely connected to DP World’s operations at Sokhna Port and will provide a full range of logistics services, including freight forwarding. With access to DP World’s global trade infrastructure, businesses will have cost-effective supply chain solutions.”
The new facility has already gained attention from both local and international businesses. Some companies that are already operating in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) have shown interest in expanding their operations to the Sokhna Logistics Park, which could further boost regional trade growth.
