Former U.S. President Donald Trump has said he will make himself the new Chairman of the Kennedy Center, a famous place for music, theatre, and art in Washington. He shared this news on his social media and said he wants to change the center to match his ideas.

Trump also said he will remove some board members, including the current chairman, billionaire David Rubenstein. He explained that this is needed to bring a "Golden Age in Arts and Culture." Rubenstein has worked with past leaders and has links to the current government, which often visits the Kennedy Center’s big events.
Trump and the Kennedy Center have not had a good relationship in the past. When he was president before, he did not attend the Kennedy Center Honors event because some people who won awards spoke against him and said they would not come if he was there. Now, he is taking charge to bring in new leaders and make changes.
Trump was not happy with some past shows at the Kennedy Center, especially one last year that had drag performers. He said such performances are not right for children. "Last year, the Kennedy Center had Drag Shows for kids — THIS WILL STOP," he wrote. "The Kennedy Center is a special place for America. It should have the best stars from across the country. THE BEST IS YET TO COME!"
The Kennedy Center is a well-known building near the Potomac River. It is the home of the National Symphony Orchestra and hosts plays, opera, comedy, and music shows.
Now that Trump is making himself the chairman and choosing new board members, many expect big changes in the Kennedy Center’s shows and leadership.
