Dharmendra, 89, Stable and Recovering Amid Health Rumors

Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, aged 89, is currently recovering and responding well to medical treatment, according to statements issued by his family members and team. The updates come after false reports of the actor’s death began circulating widely on social media, causing distress among fans and the film fraternity.

On Tuesday, a statement shared by Dharmendra’s son and actor Sunny Deol’s team assured the public that the veteran star is “recovering and responding to treatment.” The message urged everyone to pray for Dharmendra’s good health and long life. This statement marked the third official update from the family within a few hours, aiming to clear the confusion and stop the spread of misinformation.

Earlier, Dharmendra’s daughter Esha Deol took to Instagram to confirm that her father is “stable and recovering,” while his second wife, actor and BJP Member of Parliament Hema Malini, slammed the false news reports about Dharmendra’s condition. Hema Malini reaffirmed on her social media account that Dharmendra is “responding to treatment and recovering,” calling out the baseless rumors as “false news.”

The family has repeatedly requested privacy and asked people not to spread unverified information regarding Dharmendra’s health. On Monday night, Sunny Deol released a statement asking fans and media not to indulge in rumors, emphasizing that further updates would be shared only as and when available. He urged everyone to respect the family’s right to privacy and pray for the actor’s speedy recovery.

Dharmendra has been receiving treatment at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai since late October. The news of his hospitalization was first reported on October 31. The iconic actor, celebrated for his legendary roles in films such as Sholay, Phool Aur Patthar, Satyakam, and Dharam Veer, is expected to turn 90 on December 8 this year.

On Tuesday morning, Sunny Deol and Hema Malini were seen visiting Dharmendra at the hospital. The previous night, several prominent film personalities, including Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Govinda, also visited the legendary actor to offer their support and best wishes.

Fans can look forward to seeing Dharmendra in his upcoming war drama Ikkis, scheduled for release on December 25. Despite the health scare, the actor’s legacy continues to inspire generations of cinema lovers.
