The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) has announced that Mohammed Ben Sulayem will serve another four years as President. This decision came after the General Assembly in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, voted in favor of his Presidential List, enabling him to continue to steer the global motorsport and mobility federation. His re-election follows a period of revitalization and stability since he took office in 2021.
In his first term, Mohammed Ben Sulayem implemented key reforms targeting improved governance, enhanced internal structures, and recovery of the FIA’s financial standing. Thanks to his management, the federation went from a €-24m deficit in 2021 to achieving a positive operating result of €4.7m in 2024, marking its strongest financial performance in nearly a decade. The FIA is also projecting an operating result of €4.4m for 2025, indicating ongoing growth and security.
This bolstered financial scenario has facilitated increased long-term investments in Member Clubs and various global development initiatives. Over the last four years, the FIA has implemented rigorous audit systems, improved budget oversight, and modern governance frameworks. These measures have elevated standards of transparency, accountability, and professionalism, resulting in smoother operational processes.
Beyond financial and administrative improvements, the FIA has reinforced its global standing in motorsport and mobility sectors. The organization has intensified its regional development initiatives, enhanced support for grassroots motorsport, and collaborated effectively with international partners on safety, sustainable mobility, and the future of transportation. A new commercial department was also launched to facilitate long-term progress and worldwide engagement.
Following his re-election, Mohammed Ben Sulayem expressed gratitude to all FIA Members for their confidence and active participation in the electoral process. He reiterated his commitment to serving the FIA, its clubs, and the broader global community, pledging to focus on progress, unity, and developmental efforts across all domains. The election process was transparent and democratic, echoing the collective voice of the federation’s worldwide members.
