In a funny statement, O'Brien joked about his reason for returning. "The only reason I'm hosting the Oscars next year is that I want to hear Adrien Brody finish his speech," he said. O'Brien was referring to Brody’s long acceptance speech at the 2025 Oscars, where he won Best Actor for his role in The Brutalist.

Disney TV Group President Craig Erwich praised O'Brien, saying he is excited to see him back on stage. "I'm excited to have his talents back onstage next year for another amazing show," Erwich said.

The show’s production team will also return. Emmy-winning producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan will lead the event for the third year in a row. They have been praised for making the Oscars broadcast smooth and fun to watch.
