Tonight, Bahrain will celebrate with fireworks at eight popular places in Manama and Muharraq. The locations include Bahrain Fort, Water Garden City, Bahrain Harbour, Bahrain Bay Beach, the Manama coastline near Shaikh Hamad Causeway and Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Causeway, The Avenues Bahrain, Al Sayah in Busaiteen, and Marassi Galleria in Diyar Al Muharraq. There will also be drone shows at Bahrain Bay and The Avenues Bahrain.
Tamer Farouk, the manager of Hilton Bahrain, said that the hotel has many visitors thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA). “We are seeing great bookings this year because of the celebrations and great tourism campaigns. Many visitors are coming from Saudi Arabia and other places,” Farouk said.
A survey by the BTEA showed that Bahrain’s tourism has grown, with a 10.6 percent rise in accommodation and food services. More people are visiting for both overnight stays and day trips.
Sarosh Aibara, from Elite Hospitality Group, said that Bahrain’s tourism has grown well, even with some challenges in the region. "This year has been good, and we hope for even better results in 2025," Aibara said. He also mentioned that Bahrain can attract more families by offering more activities and promoting events like meetings and conferences.
Travel agents are also seeing more visitors. Adnan Aziz from Dadabhai Travel said that the number of tourists has increased due to better flight connections and good weather. "Bahrain always gets a lot of tourists during the New Year period, and the country is also becoming a popular place for weddings," Aziz said.
Another reason for the rise in visitors is the return of cruise ships. This year, 40 cruise ships will visit Bahrain, bringing in over 100,000 tourists, mainly from Europe. The cruise tourists will visit Bahrain’s markets, shopping malls, and historic sites.
Mohamed Buzizi, president of Skal International Bahrain, said that tourism in Bahrain will keep growing in 2025. He mentioned that Bahrain has been a popular place for New Year celebrations for many years. "The country offers a lot of entertainment, shopping, and great food, which will help bring in more visitors next year," Buzizi said.
In conclusion, Bahrain's tourism industry is growing and will likely see more visitors in 2025. Thanks to the government’s efforts, big events, and the return of cruise tourists, Bahrain is becoming a top destination for people from all over the world.
