His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), inaugurated the World Padel Academy (WPA) in Bahrain today, marking a significant milestone for the country's sports sector.
The ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the BOC; His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Football Association; Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Padel Federation (UAEPA) and the Honourary President of the Arab Padel Federation (APF); and Fahad bin Mohammed Salem Kardous Al Ameri, UAE Ambassador to Bahrain.
The newly inaugurated World Padel Academy’s first branch in Bahrain is the result of a collaborative effort between Kanoo Real Estate, a subsidiary of the Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group, and a strategic partnership between Spadrec Investments from the UAE and Bahrain’s Courtside Sports. This new branch is part of the academy's expanding network, which includes successful establishments in the UAE. The Bahrain branch will also serve as the official base for Bahrain’s Victorious Padel Team, providing the athletes with access to world-class facilities and training resources.

This facility will help elevate the sport of padel in Bahrain, offering both professional athletes and enthusiasts the opportunity to train and compete at the highest level.
This milestone is in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who has long been committed to advancing Bahrain's sports sector and ensuring the Kingdom's continued success on the international stage. The opening of the WPA is a testament to Bahrain’s growing influence in the global sports community and its commitment to fostering talent and promoting international sports.
The World Padel Academy is dedicated to advancing the sport of padel by providing a world-class training environment under the guidance of professional coaches. With this new facility, the WPA is positioning itself as one of the top global centres for padel, with the capacity to host major international tournaments and further establish Bahrain as a key hub for the sport.
