The AFC Champions League Elite West region witnessed thrilling football action on Monday as UAE’s Al Wahda secured a crucial 3-1 victory over Qatar’s Al Duhail at Al Nahyan Stadium. Al Wahda’s performance highlighted their determination to stay among the top contenders, with the team now level on seven points with defending champions Al-Ahli. Al Wahda’s commanding display, marked by fluid attacking play and tactical discipline, underlined their ambitions in the AFC Champions League Elite. The victory against Al Duhail strengthens Al Wahda’s campaign and boosts their confidence ahead of upcoming fixtures in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli delivered a stunning first-half performance, thrashing Qatar’s Al-Gharafa 4-0 in Jeddah to lead the AFC Champions League Elite standings. Franck Kessie was the star for Al-Ahli, scoring twice after Enzo Millot had opened the scoring, showcasing the team’s sharp finishing and strategic attacking moves. Despite going a goal down in the fifth minute, Al-Ittihad responded with resilience as Moussa Diaby and Fabinho put the Saudis ahead by halftime. Houssem Aouar’s double strike after a red card for Danilo Pereira sealed a comfortable victory. The win was crucial for Al-Ittihad to maintain momentum and stay competitive in the AFC Champions League Elite West region standings.
Iran’s Tractor FC also made an impact in the AFC Champions League Elite, claiming a 5-0 victory over Sharjah FC. Albania international Regi Lushkja scored twice in the opening 11 minutes, setting the tone for a dominant performance. Mehdi Hashemnejad, Danial Esmaeilifar, and Masoud Zayer Kazemayni also contributed goals, ensuring Tractor FC’s first win of the campaign. The emphatic victory strengthens Tractor FC’s position and demonstrates their attacking capability in the AFC Champions League Elite.
