Abu Dhabi, UAE – 14 November 2025: The world’s premier autonomous car racing event, A2RL Season 2, is set to captivate audiences in Abu Dhabi on 15 November 2025, with 11 elite teams from across the globe competing for a US$2.25 million prize pool. Following an 18-month preparation and rigorous qualification process, the six fastest teams have earned their place in the Grand Final, promising an unprecedented spectacle at the Yas Marina Circuit. Tickets for the main grandstand have reached full capacity, highlighting the growing excitement around AI-driven motorsport.
Grand Final: Witness AI History in Motion
The A2RL Grand Final will mark a historic milestone in autonomous racing, as six fully autonomous racecars compete wheel-to-wheel for the first time. Teams TUM, Unimore, Kinetiz, TII Racing, PoliMOVE, and Constructor—representing Germany, Italy, and the UAE—will race 20 laps to claim the Season 2 championship. Reigning champions TUM secured pole position after a thrilling “Multi-Car Qualification” sprint against Italian team Unimore, setting the stage for an epic showdown.
For the remaining teams, the Silver Race will provide a platform to push their algorithms further and determine their overall rankings. Competing teams include RAPSON, Code 19, Fly Eagle, FR4IAV, and TGM Grand Prix.
Human vs AI: Bridging the Performance Gap
Pre-race build-up has already seen record-breaking AI performance. Notably, Unimore became the first team to surpass a human benchmark lap time during testing, demonstrating the narrowing gap between human intuition and machine precision. On race day, fans will witness TUM race against former F1 driver Daniil Kvyat in the highly anticipated Human vs AI showcase, promising a thrilling demonstration of speed, strategy, and technology.
Beyond the Track: Supercars, STEM, and Fan Experiences
The evening’s excitement begins with a Supercar Parade Laps by Group 63, followed by awards for the A2RL STEM Competition, where 140 students across the UAE raced AWS DeepRacer 1/18th-scale autonomous cars, mirroring the main event.
Fans can enjoy a world-class Fan Zone featuring humanoid robots, interactive tech games, live entertainment, and immersive hands-on experiences for all ages. A2RL’s live VR platform will also allow audiences worldwide to experience the race in real time, with live data and high-speed action at their fingertips.
The race will be broadcast globally on 16 November at 3pm GST via Abu Dhabi Media Network, StarzPlay, Motorsport TV, and the official A2RL YouTube channel.
