Actor Abhishek Bachchan has expressed his pride in his nephew Agastya Nanda, who stars in the upcoming war drama Ikkis. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the film narrates the tale of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, who tragically died at just 21 during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War.
Abhishek took to social media to share a behind-the-scenes glimpse from Ikkis, featuring Agastya discussing the significance of depicting such a revered character. Agastya remarked, “Arun Khetarpal is a legendary figure. I feel incredibly grateful to play him and share his story with the audience.” In response, Abhishek lauded his commitment, referring to it as a “huge honour and responsibility,” and wished him the best for success.
The film boasts a remarkable cast, including Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, Aadyanshi Kapoor, Simar Bhatia, Ekavali Khanna, Shree Bishnoi, Sikandar Kher, and Akashh Alonia. Produced by Maddock Films, Ikkis is scheduled to hit theaters on December 25, 2025. The narrative emphasizes Khetarpal’s valor and the significant events of the 1971 conflict, ensuring his legacy resonates with future generations.
Agastya previously shared insights on how embodying a soldier has imparted essential values like discipline and respect. He conveyed that exploring the military lifestyle was enlightening, offering him a deeper understanding of an army officer's life. Fans, along with family, including Abhishek, are keenly anticipating Agastya’s performance in this much-awaited film.
