In a significant advancement for national cybersecurity, the UAE Cybersecurity Council has outlined new measures to fortify the nation against post-quantum security risks. This announcement at the CyberQ 2025 event in Abu Dhabi, scheduled for November 26-27, highlights a strengthened collaboration with QuantumGate, a company known for its expertise in quantum-safe technologies. The partnership aims to transition from strategic planning to comprehensive implementation, bolstering defenses across vital sectors against potential quantum decryption challenges.
The initiative's focus is to expedite the UAE’s journey toward establishing quantum-safe security. Collaborative efforts will be directed at forecasting and addressing threats from emergent quantum decryption innovations. This strategic move ensures that sectors critical to national welfare, including security and finance, are equipped to handle forthcoming cybersecurity challenges.
Key parts of the national strategy will unfold through three pivotal programs: the National Information Assurance Programme, the National Cybersecurity Index Platform, and the National Post-Quantum Migration Programme.
Under the National Information Assurance Programme, the Council and QuantumGate aim to elevate basic security standards and enhance resilience in both public and private sectors. The National Cybersecurity Index Platform will afford a comprehensive overview of the nation’s readiness, enabling better measurement and visibility into cybersecurity preparedness.
Additionally, the National Post-Quantum Migration Programme will pinpoint vulnerable cryptographic resources, establish migration priorities, and equip organizations for the safeguarding of long-term data. Through delivering sector-wide guidance and migration roadmaps, the UAE transitions from mere acknowledgment to concrete, actionable cybersecurity solutions, positioning itself among the pioneers globally in a coordinated national post-quantum security framework.
Dr. Mohamed Al-Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, asserted, "Our objective is to anticipate threats rather than respond reactively. Thanks to QuantumGate’s cutting-edge technology, the UAE is proactively establishing quantum-safe defenses to secure critical infrastructure against tomorrow’s threats."
This collaboration also includes integration of various QuantumGate technologies into national initiatives. These encompass the Crypto Discovery Tool (CDT) for visibility of cryptographic assets within complex networks, QSphere, a quantum-resilient VPN and data protection tool, along with Salina and Secure VMI, which extend security measures to enterprises and governmental systems beyond mere post-quantum safeguards.
Dr. Najwa Aaraj, CEO of QuantumGate, remarked, "Our collaboration with the Cybersecurity Council has evolved from research to broad deployment. With TII’s cryptographic infrastructures and QuantumGate’s protective measures now active across the nation, we are fortifying the UAE against quantum threats."
This enduring partnership enhances the UAE's standing as a prominent figure in regional and global post-quantum cybersecurity. By harmonizing governmental strategy with national tech prowess, the UAE is laying down a secure digital foundation for future endeavors.
Through effective execution and widespread readiness, the Cybersecurity Council and QuantumGate are greatly improving the nation’s capacity to protect sensitive data, boost overall resilience, and preserve the UAE's leadership in quantum-centric cybersecurity innovation.
