This data proves the success of Abu Dhabi's measures in enhancing tourism and culture. **Significant Developments within a Year** DCT Abu Dhabi's Undersecretary, His Excellency Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, mentioned how the year's progress has been remarkable. He commended the improvements driven by the revised Tourism Strategy 2030 and Culture Strategy.
According to him, these numbers evident Abu Dhabi’s diligent efforts towards sustainable growth and constant improvement. Abu Dhabi is emerging as a leading destination for tourism and culture by creating unique experiences, upgrading infrastructure, and forging alliances, Al Hosani added. **Rise in Visitor Count** In 2024, the 4.8 million hotel guests exceeded pre-pandemic figures.
Abu Dhabi lured visitors from key countries like India, China, Russia, the UK, and Saudi Arabia. Museums and historical sites also witnessed large gatherings, with 3.9 million visitors by October 2024. This was a 21% uptick from 2023. This data demonstrate the effective efforts of Abu Dhabi in promoting cultural tourism. **Aims for 2030** The Tourism Strategy 2030 of Abu Dhabi is ambitious.
Looking at 2030, the plan anticipates hosting 39.3 million visitors annually, contributing AED90 billion to national revenue, and creating 178,000 fresh jobs in tourism. The accomplishment of these goals will be facilitated by 25 focused projects. These projects concentrate on four primary aspects: enhancing tourist spots, better marketing, stronger infrastructure, and straightforward visa processes and rules.
Aviation Spurs Expansion The aviation sector has catalyzed Abu Dhabi's growth. Zayed International Airport now collaborates with 24 airlines, making travel easier. In 2024, Etihad Airways inaugurated 10 new routes, while Wizz Air Abu Dhabi introduced flights to 35 cities in 25 countries. Additionally, Air Arabia now links passengers to over 200 cities from its bases in the UAE, Morocco, Egypt, and Pakistan.
Tapping into Fresh Markets DCT Abu Dhabi aims to tap into new international markets while maintaining a presence in established ones. Means such as trade fairs, travel education, and collaborations with travel firms are amplifying Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a leading destination for leisure, business, and culture. **Upcoming Attractions** Abu Dhabi has some exciting undertakings in the pipeline.
Warner Bros. World plans to expand by incorporating Harry Potter World. The Saadiyat Cultural District project is slated to open in 2025, and Hudayriyat Island aims to become a center for sports and adventure. Enhancements are also planned for Yas Waterworld, among other attractions. Given these victories and ambitious future plans, Abu Dhabi is certainly looking ever closer to becoming one of the world's top tourist and cultural spots.
