The Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (ADPIC) proudly highlighted Abu Dhabi’s advanced infrastructure development and management capabilities at the prestigious Global Infrastructure Conference. The event, organised by the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), took place in Geneva, Switzerland, and brought together some of the most influential figures in the global infrastructure sector.
During the conference, His Excellency Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), delivered an opening address. The conference, which was themed “Transforming Lives with Infrastructure – Investing in and Building a Better World for All,” focused on the critical role of sustainable, ethical, and efficient infrastructure investment. ADPIC’s participation underlined its commitment to these values by showcasing a range of its groundbreaking projects.
Over the course of the two-day event, ADPIC displayed an impressive portfolio of more than 600 projects, collectively valued at approximately AED 200 billion. This provided a unique opportunity for ADPIC to engage with key stakeholders from the engineering, construction, and infrastructure sectors. The centre’s projects, which span various domains of capital infrastructure development, were of significant interest to global industry leaders, organisations, and peers, further cementing Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a leader in the field.
Engineer Maysarah Mahmoud Eid, the Acting Director General of ADPIC, represented the centre in a panel discussion, which was led by FIDIC Board Member Jose Joaquine Ortiz Garcia. During the discussion, Engineer Eid provided valuable insights into ADPIC's work in overseeing capital projects, and the centre’s ongoing contribution to Abu Dhabi’s sustained growth. Through its exhibition stand, ADPIC also shared further information about its mandate, achievements, and ongoing projects, offering attendees a more comprehensive understanding of its efforts to contribute to the region’s and the world’s infrastructure needs.
Reflecting on ADPIC’s involvement in the conference, Engineer Eid remarked:
“The opportunity to share ADPIC’s achievements at such a prestigious forum reflects our commitment to excellence in infrastructure development. By showcasing our strategic initiatives and engaging with global peers, we reaffirm our mission to not only advance Abu Dhabi’s infrastructure but also to contribute to the broader dialogue on the best, most sustainable construction practices. Our participation in this conference is a powerful reminder of the collective effort needed to build a better world, and we remain dedicated to leading by example.”
The 2024 Global Infrastructure Conference welcomed over 650 delegates from various organisations and companies, further solidifying its position as one of the most significant gatherings in the infrastructure industry. The event allowed ADPIC to expand its global reach, connect with international experts, and demonstrate Abu Dhabi's leading role in shaping future infrastructure through sustainable, innovative, and ethical practices.
