The Department of Community Development (DCD) hosted a special Ramadan Iftar event at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, bringing together community leaders, representatives of different faiths, and senior officials from across the social sector.
The event highlighted DCD’s continuous efforts to promote dialogue, strengthen community engagement, and build strong social connections among people from diverse backgrounds. It also aimed to encourage a culture of coexistence, tolerance, and mutual respect in Abu Dhabi’s multicultural society.
His Excellency Shamis Ali Al Dhaheri, Chairman of DCD, said that such gatherings reflect Abu Dhabi’s strong commitment to unity and social harmony. He emphasized that open dialogue and regular interaction between community leaders and faith representatives play an important role in building trust and strengthening social bonds.
He added that Abu Dhabi’s society is built on shared values, where cultural and religious diversity contributes to social cohesion and mutual understanding. According to him, these values help create a peaceful and inclusive environment for everyone.
Al Dhaheri also highlighted the important role of faith leaders in spreading awareness and promoting shared human values. He noted that their efforts help connect different communities and encourage participation in initiatives that support unity and cooperation.
The event served as a platform to deepen relationships among various communities and reaffirm the role of faith representatives in promoting respect, understanding, and stronger community ties.
